The school curriculum up to class VIII is framed in accordance with the guidelines of the N.C.E.R.T. It is framed with the philosophy "Teach the whole child". Our curriculum is a comprehensive blend of the main academic subjects and co-curricular activities like Art & Craft, Music, Physical Education, Computers, Value Education and SUPW (Socially Useful and Productive Work). Teaching is geared to re-orient the learning process from being teacher centered to student centric. Communicative methodology is followed in language learning through participatory classroom activities such as role play, language games, debates, group discussions, public speaking and creative writing. Social Sciences are taught with a project based approach and students are encouraged to relate their curriculum with real life situations. Trips, excursions, field vists to historical monuments, archaeological sites, planetarium, zoological parks etc. as well as activities like Youth Parliament, mock elections help to clarify core concepts. We seek to cultivate scientific spirit through regular exposure to science labs and opportunities for experimentation. An ELT lab and Mathematics laboratory have been set up where in students learn through activities and games. There are two fully equipped Audio Visual rooms for effective curriculum transaction. The school curriculum upto class VIII is based on the recommendation of N.C.E.R.T. The school is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi for the following examinations : i) All India Secondary School Examination (AISSE) ii) All India Senior School Certificate Examinations (AISSCE) The school academic session extends from April to March next. Promotion to the next class is based on the class performance of the students. Each student's performance is assessed over the entire academic year based on continuous and comprehensive evaluation. The comprehensive school based evaluation certificate records student's achievements in the areas of physical development, emotional development and aesthetic development apart from cognitive development. For this the whole session has been divided into two semesters i.e. April to September - Semester I, October to March - Semester II. There is one unit test per subject and one main examination per subject in each semester. i.e. two unit tests and two main exams are held in a session. The final result will be declared on the basis of performance in semester I & II in the form of five point grading scale (for Pre school to V) and nine point grading scale)Scholastic) and five point grading scale (Co-scholastic) for VI to X as per CBSE guidelines. The 'Achievement Record' provides a holistic picture of the learner and would not give any negative input about the performance of the learner. The objective is to bring continuous improvement in the performance of a learner through constant diagnosis of gaps and difficulties in learning and helping him/her in overcoming them through remediation of instructions. There will be a combined report book 'Achievement Record ' for Pre School & Pre Primary, I & II, III to V & separate report cards from VI to X. Academic Assessment 1.First term - FA1 (10%)+FA2(10%)+SA1 (30%) = 50% 2.Second term - FA3 (10%)+FA4(10%)+SA2 (30%)= 50% 3.Formative Assessment (FA)1+2+3+4 = 40% 4.Summative A(SA)1+2 = 60% Percentile - A percentile rank is the percentage of scores that fall below a given score.
